Askals

You might still be so engrossed with your pics on your cellphone or at seeing the Askals live at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium last 2 Sunday afternoon, or the recent supposed rape incident that happened between a model actress-wanna be and 4 members of the Askals group members.. But this article is not about that.

Instead I am writing about the recent turn of events in our political scenery. Don' t you just hate it how some of our Honorable government officials seem  to be naught at the length of their own noses and breadth of their skin sitting nonchalantly on their high horses knowing how they sheepishly won the elections by their darn nasty tactics. So many of us still feel this "oh, so what's new in politics crap?" which Malacanang spinners are advocating to have lessened in number. Philippine Politics is still the same! Who are they to think of us middle class urban citizens? stupid? I doubt this kind of government flourishes elsewhere in the world. Only the Philippines will you find citizens willing to vote for the same old crooks just because they are winnable candidates, who look pretty, or handsome, or just because they come from political dynasties we have been fond of  doing what their forefathers have been doing these decades of  long ago. Do these new  politicians that have been given a chance to rid our society of bureaucratic bullshit even have the chance to clean up their forfather's mess? Of course not! No one person can do it alone! You know who we can count on for real?!? The answer is obvious. And I dare say its the only endemic here in this romantic Philipine islands... Because I dare say, only another EDSA can. We Filipinos are in love with heroes and idealism. We do not savor in the meagerness of our daily lives. We look up only through our dreams. And whoever is close enough or clean enough to look the part.. That! That person is the key to our future. And I doubt but I will bet Noynoy Aquino would wear that suit of armor to save us all.
